Earlier this year we announced a new suite of security solutions powered by Precision AI™ that provide a comprehensive approach to helping organizations stay secure in this era of AI. On that day, we had the privilege of announcing the private preview of Strata Copilot.
Today, I am excited to take the next step and announce that Strata Copilot is available. We are excited that more Strata Network Security Platform customers - whether using our NGFW or Prisma SASE - can start to take advantage of the ultimate AI assistant for network security.
Why Strata Copilot?
We built Strata Copilot because being a network security administrator is both challenging and complex. The threat landscape continues to intensify in terms of attack sophistication, scale and speed. Staying secure demands a deep understanding of users, applications and attackers coupled with rapid response capabilities and optimal utilization of a constantly evolving toolset. Network security teams find themselves stretched thin and burdened with heavy workloads.
How Strata Copilot Radically Simplifies Network Security
To help our customers keep up, we knew that we needed to make it radically simpler for network security teams to move radically faster. To do this we have pulled together an incredibly broad data set that includes all of the knowledge we have for our products, all of the network data customers have for their estate and all of the best practices we have built over the years with tens of thousands of customers. By putting all of that knowledge behind an elegant natural language interface, we’ve been able to redefine how network teams understand and act.
Analysts at ESG agree:
“Network security teams are under immense pressure to not only defend against increasingly sophisticated threats but do so efficiently. In fact, 63% of organizations say they expect to see improved operational efficiency from their network security solutions. Generative AI can help deliver this outcome by helping guide administrators to the answers they need faster. Palo Alto Networks has recognized this with its launch of Strata Copilot, which has the potential to simplify operations by harnessing all the enterprise’s data and offering clear, actionable steps.” - John Grady, Analyst, ESG
We’ve been able to deliver on this simplification by focusing on three capabilities:
- Putting all the product knowledge of the Strata Network Security Platform at your fingertips, enabling you to adopt best practices: The Strata Network Security Platform is extremely powerful and has a wide range of services and capabilities. At the same time, enterprises need to protect a wide range of users, apps, devices and locations. Activating the right security capability quickly is critical. Strata Copilot gathers data from almost 50,000 vetted sources, including technical documentation and LIVEcommunity blogs. These sources cover all Strata platform functionality across SASE and NGFW deployments. Then the Strata Copilot makes it radically simple to use natural language to figure out the right next steps based on years of best practices. During our preview we found that customers were using Copilot to get answers to questions like:
How can I investigate activity on my network related to incidents and alerts?
How do I ensure the GlobalProtect portal and gateways trust the client certificates?
How do we configure HIP profiles in Strata Cloud Manager?
How do I check FIPS Compliance?
How can I see if my users are having performance issues?
- Providing AI-Driven decision support for securing and optimizing your network: Strata Copilot goes beyond understanding how to maximize the use of the Strata Network Security Platform. It helps network security administrators make fast decisions about threats, users, architectures, policies and deployments. It delivers powerful insights into network activity, from identifying the most prevalent and riskiest threats and vulnerabilities to pinpointing user performance issues. With its natural language interface, Strata Copilot simplifies gaining situational awareness across the entire network estate. During our preview we found that customers are able to find answers to challenging questions like:
Who are the 5 users exposed to the highest number of threats?
What are the most vulnerable devices on my network?
What is the total number of users browsing to a URL categorized as artificial-intelligence within the last 7 days, grouped by application name?
Show me a breakdown of users per site, sorted by most users to least user count over the past 30 days?
Why am I getting alerts about users in my Texas office being unable to access their email?
- Delivering intelligent guidance for faster remediation: Strata Copilot delivers intelligent guidance to accelerate remediation by leveraging Palo Alto Networks' best practices from over 70,000 customers and years of network security leadership. It provides suggested next steps to resolve issues quickly and even allows administrators to raise support tickets in seconds. These tickets are automatically populated with historical information and evidence, ensuring they are comprehensive and enabling faster resolution. By streamlining the remediation process and guiding users through each step, Strata Copilot enhances productivity and security, taking an important step towards a more autonomous and efficient future for network operations.
And all of these capabilities work for both network security and network operations.
We built the Strata Copilot to deliver a very specific outcome - to make the network security administrator’s life simpler. Our preview customers are already using Strata Copilot to radically simplify their network security and operations. Today is an important day as we begin rolling out availability across the globe. Some users in the United States will start seeing it in their Strata Cloud Manager interface and it will roll out globally over the next few months.
